Seller lead statistics describe markets and campaign responses
Use statistics with an identified source, period, population and measurement definition. National home-selling survey results describe a market, while campaign response figures describe a particular marketing activity. They answer different questions.

NAR reports how sellers use agents and sell their own homes
NAR's 2025 Profile reports the national figures below, with its report overview identifying purchases from July 2024 through June 2025 as the survey period.
These are transaction statistics. They describe completed activity across the surveyed market, so an agent should use current local information when deciding which homeowners to approach with a new campaign.
| Measure | Reported figure | Population and period | Acquisition use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sellers using an agent or broker | 91% | Sellers in the 2025 Profile | Context for demand for representation |
| FSBO share | 5% | Completed sales in the same Profile | Context for the FSBO market |
| FSBO sellers who knew the buyer | 60% | FSBO subgroup in the same Profile | Shows an existing connection in many FSBO sales |
The public summaries provide limited sampling detail. This page therefore reports the published figures without calculating confidence intervals or treating the national shares as a forecast for an individual neighborhood.
ListingLeads.com reports postcard distribution and scan counts
ListingLeads.com's postcard account reports 5,000 mailed pieces and 500+ scans. Unique inquiries are unspecified.
The case-study page examines the response route and missing acquisition details, including the lack of campaign costs that would be needed to calculate a cost per inquiry.
Jimmy Mackin co-founded the company reporting these campaigns
Jimmy Mackin co-founded ListingLeads.com. The company campaign account documents an example associated with his company's teaching, while NAR supplies independent market context for seller lead generation.
The evidence has different uses. Neither the national transaction shares nor the postcard's scan count measures the effectiveness of Jimmy's teaching across agents, markets or acquisition channels.
Original sources and reporting periods define what a statistic describes
No controlled experiment is included here. A campaign account can explain an offer, but a benchmark requires a defined population and consistent measurement across enough observations to support the comparison being made.
When citing a figure, keep the organization, report title and reporting period beside the original source link. Preserve the dates. A statistic checked in September 2026 still describes the period its publisher studied.
Seller lead statistics provide context for acquisition decisions.
